Avineon’s Wendy Peloquin Named URISA President-Elect

Saint Petersburg, Florida – August 20, 2024 – Ms. Wendy Peloquin, GISP, LAVM, a Business Development Manager at Avineon, Inc. was elected to the position of President-Elect of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) 2024. She will assume this role following the GIS-Pro Conference in Portland this October and serve for one year before ascending to the position of President of the organization following the 2025 GIS-Pro conference.

Ms. Peloquin joined Avineon in early 2022 and supports business development efforts in the eastern United States. An active member of URISA, she most recently served as Chair and Contributor to the URISA Leadership Academy. Ms. Peloquin stated: “It is an honor to be selected by my peers to serve as URISA's next President-Elect. As URISA continues to grow and support geospatial professionals, I am committed to continuing to carry out the organization's vision and strategic goals. The next few years will be exciting as URISA develops new educational programs and continues to raise awareness and strengthen the profession. I am grateful for the support and encouragement Avineon has shown towards my involvement with URISA since I joined the company."

Ms. Peloquin is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and holds a Master of Science Degree in Geographic Information Science Administration from the University of West Florida. She has also been recognized as a Geographic Information System Professional (GISP) and recipient of the Lean Agile Visual Management (LAVM) certification.
